An Open Letter From the Co-Creator of Ninja Forms
ExchangeWP is an awesome product. If you’re trying to setup an ecommerce site in WordPress, you’d be hard pressed to find a quicker, more user-friendly option. When our team heard that it was being shelved, we felt compelled to keep such a great plugin alive.
When you build your site, or your business, around a WordPress plugin, it can be really disheartening to hear that it’s changing hands. You’re probably left with several questions. Can I continue to trust the plugin with my business? Will the new owner take the same care with the product as the original developer? What about my current license? Even if all those questions are answered up front, the new owner needs to earn the trust of existing users.
If you’re already an ExchangeWP user, you’ve already experienced one ownership transfer event, and I totally understand the frustration or trepidation you may feel at the announcement of yet another. The previous owner was not able to keep up with the needs of the plugin because of time and financial constraints. This wasn’t because he was mis-managing or being evil; he just didn’t have the proper infrastructure.
ExchangeWP has found its forever home, and a new name, with the Ninja team. We’re the team behind Ninja Forms, one of the most popular form builder plugins for WordPress; that plugin runs on over a million sites every day. With the experience that comes from running a large WordPress plugin business, we think that we’re uniquely positioned to take over ExchangeWP and crank the awesome to eleven.
To stretch a metaphor, the ExchangeWP caterpillar has become a chrysalis. (My elementary school teachers would be disappointed at how much I had to Google to find that word.) Soon, it will nibble its way out of its cocoon and emerge as a Ninja Shop butterfly.
While Ninja Shop is in metamorphosis, we’d love to better understand how you currently use ExchangeWP. Below you’ll find a survey; if you’re a current user, please take the time to fill it out. It’ll really help us with the future direction of Ninja Shop. There’s also a question and answer section that tackles some questions we think you may have.
We hope that you give us the opportunity to earn your trust.
